Leadership

ADVSCOPY founder Jimmy Stamp is a recovering architectural designer with more than 15 years of experience writing about architecture as a critic, journalist, and historian. His work has appeared in The Guardian, Smithsonian, The Architect's Newspaper, and many more publications in print and online.

Throughout his career in design journalism, Jimmy’s mission was to make architecture more accessible to a modern, diverse audience. He developed an engaging style using plain language, everyday objects, and public issues to connect with readers and help them understand design — and, critically, why good design matters.

He started ADVSCOPY to expand that mission by directly helping architects and designers share their ideas and communicate the value of their work.

By day, he leverages his disciplinary expertise and background in design journalism to help firms of all sizes, all over the world, win projects, earn recognition, and grow their practice. By night, he keeps his voice fresh and pencil sharp as an avid reader and writer of fiction, finding inspiration in everything from Faulkner to the Fantastic Four.

Jimmy earned a Masters of Environmental Design degree from the Yale School of Architecture, as well as a Masters and Bachelors of Architecture from Tulane University.
